A Major Company in Jersey City, NJ has an excellent opportunity for a Linux Systems Administrator. Responsibilities:
  • Perform system administration for web and application servers.
  • Perform in-depth maintenance and tuning.
  • Perform server optimizations.
  • Participate dependably in an off-hours on-call rotation.
  • Take an assigned standard day shift.

Requirements:
  • Expert level understanding of Linux, Apache, and TCP/IP.
  • Installation and troubleshooting of software packages and OS.
  • Development as needed in Perl, Bash/Shell scripting.
  • Strong experience with Apache and LDAP.
  • Strong experience with Web applications.
  • Strong experience in problem troubleshooting and systems monitoring operations dealing with networks and protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, Vlan and DNS.
  • Strong experience with Fiber Channel and iSCSI networks.
  • Strong Experience with VMware ESX.
  • Experience with storage arrays, 3par arrays preferable.
  • Strong experience with systems and network monitoring software configurations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong self-starter.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or 4 years of commensurate experience.
