Highly trafficked B2C website seeking Linux Systems Administrator

We are looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to take full responsibility for managing both our internal and external networks.

After a period of consolidation we now have a hosted infrastructure based on extensive use of virtualization technologies which handles our monthly 3.5M unique visits and is capable of both horizontal and vertical scaling to meet our future traffic predictions.

We are looking for a Systems Administrator who will be capable not only of managing our existing infrastructure, but also of working with the development team to plan and architect the evolution of this infrastructure to meet future requirements.

The key requirements for this role are as follows:

1. Manage our webservers and databases to meet our target of 99.99% uptime.

2. Work with existing monitoring and implement new monitoring so that we can predict issues before they arise and react to unexpected problems in a timely manner.

3. Work with our hosting partners to ensure the integrity and reliability of our daily and hourly backups and database snapshots.

4. Provide support to the company's users of Windows laptops, desktops, servers and peripherals.

5. Work with our development team to provide a reliable and consistent development infrastructure.

6. Analyze and monitor traffic and access patterns to identify and eliminate capacity bottlenecks.

7. Own the code release process, merging development branches onto release branches and pushing releases to QA and live.

This role would suit someone who is ambitious and results focused.

The role will report into the Technical Director and will work closely with various teams across the business.
