Job Available: Sys Integrator (contract) in LA. Sr Linux with telecom/cable experience.

Skills:
The following skills are required to be considered for this position:

•Minimum 3-5 years working as a systems integrator and/or system administrator in a UNIX/Linux environment, preferably in a cable or telecom environment.
•Experience installing and trouble-shooting UNIX/Linux software and operating system components.
•Strong knowledge of UNIX/Linux shell scripting languages and system tools such as BASH, PERL, vi, etc.
•Strong hardware and software trouble-shooting skills
•Expertise in installing, trouble-shooting, and maintaining complex TCP/IP networks, routing, and physical network topologies.
•Strong interpersonal and communications skills and an ability to understand and discuss cable industry related business issues.

1. Very good knowledge of Linux
2. Good knowledge of DB (import/export etc)
3. JBoss experience
4. Can write, build and test installers
5. Good scripting experience to write automated scripts
6. Knowledgable in taking images on Linux server using Acronis.
7. Worked on System scalability projects.


DESIRED SKILLS:
The following skills are desirable in a candidate applying for this position:

• Experience in the cable or telecom industry
• Knowledge of Pegasus Digital Cable Architecture
• Knowledge of DSM-CC and MPEG-2
• Experience configuring and trouble-shooting Scientific Atlanta digital cable headends (DNCS, QAMS, QPSK, etc.)
• Experience configuring and trouble-shooting Motorola digital cable headends
